Cow protection is prescribed as a duty in Hindu sastras. Jains also contribute to this cause in a great way with Jeeva Karunya. Besides religious causes, protecting cows make economic sense for our nation even if the cows do not yield milk. It is essential to get cow dung, urine for making Panchakavyam which is acknowledged as both a pesticide and fertilizer. Prevention of cow slaughter makes Economic sense for the Nation. Trust has taken up this activity and has set up infrastructure to maintain 50 cows at any time.
Accordingly Trust has setup a Goshala, a shelter for cows, (yielding and dry) in the organic farm at Poovalai. This goshala is situated near the senior citizens home at Poovalai village. Attempt will be made to provide organic milk and milk products to the residents of the Home in course of time.
Cost of maintaining a cow per month comes to Rs.2000. Those Donors who want to donate for this cause may do so by remitting to the bank account of the Trust as per details given in Contributions page.
